About Tom Forster -

I am a classically trained portrait/figurative artist. I work primarily in oil and casein (a tempera paint using milk proteins as a binder) and charcoal for drawing.  I have been drawing since a young child. My first oil painting was accomplished at 13. I have worked with various media. I studied Advertising Art at SUNY Farmingdale. I apprenticed under Chuck Lease, a freelance illustrator,  for a 3 year period of time improving my illustration skills. I have worked as a freelance illustrator/artist. I also studied classical realism at LIAFA in Syosset, NY, under Robert Armetta and Steve Forster (no relation) for 7 years.
